Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · effective 31 August 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Mythenia LLC (“we”, “us”), covering your use of Mythenia at mythenia.com and every part of the game and website (the “Service”).
You accept these Terms when you tick the box at signup, and each time you use the Service afterwards. If you do not accept them, do not create an account and do not play. Our Privacy Policy and our Rules are part of this agreement; where the Rules describe conduct in plainer language, these Terms govern if the two ever conflict.
We record the version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted and the date you accepted them. This document is version 1.0, effective 31 August 2026.
2. Who may play (minimum age)
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service. There are no exceptions to this floor, anywhere.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland and you are under the age of digital consent in your country, which is 16 unless your country has set it lower (several have, and 13 is the lowest permitted), you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who must accept these Terms on your behalf. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has created an account without your permission, contact us at support@mythenia.com and we will close it and delete the associated personal data.
You must also not be barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you, and you must not have been previously banned from Mythenia.
3. Your account
One person, one account, unless we say otherwise in writing. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password secret. Tell us promptly at support@mythenia.com if you believe someone else has access to it.
Your account is a licence to use the Service; it is not property. You may not sell, buy, rent, lend, gift, or transfer an account, and you may not sell in-game items, currency, or services for real money outside the Service. Real-money trading is a ban for both the buyer and the seller.
You may close your account at any time from your settings or by contacting us. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already spent, except where section 5 or the law says otherwise.
4. Your licence to play, and what stays ours
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and play Mythenia for your own entertainment, subject to these Terms.
Everything that makes up the Service belongs to us or our licensors. That includes the software, artwork, text, characters, world, names, logos and audio. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, resell, or make derivative works of it, except where the law expressly gives you that right regardless of contract.
You may not automate play. Bots, macros, scripted grinding, packet manipulation and modified clients are prohibited, as is exploiting a bug for advantage. Report bugs instead of using them.
Anything you submit through the Service remains yours. That includes chat, guild names, character names, profile text and messages to support. You but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate, moderate, and improve the Service. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to submit.
5. Purchases, virtual currency, and refunds
The Service is free to play. You may also buy Starbloom (our virtual currency) and other virtual items. Prices are shown at the point of purchase and payment is handled by our payment provider; we do not receive or store your full card details.
Virtual currency and virtual items have no real-world value. Starbloom, in-game currency, items, gear, characters, levels, titles, and every other in-game asset are a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use a feature of the Service. They are not your property, they are not money, they are not a stored-value or payment instrument, they cannot be redeemed for cash, and they have no value outside the game.
We may change or remove in-game content. This is a live game: we may add, alter, rebalance, re-price, retire, or remove any item, currency, feature, or piece of content at any time, including content you have bought or earned. Balance changes are a normal part of an ongoing game and are not a defect or a ground for a refund.
Purchases are final where the law allows. Because virtual currency and items are delivered to your account immediately, all purchases are final and non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by the law that applies to you.
Your statutory rights are not affected, and in some places they override the line above. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. That right is lost once delivery has begun with your express prior consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it. You give both when you confirm a purchase of Starbloom or an item that is credited immediately. If delivery has not begun, or your local law gives you a right we cannot exclude, contact us at support@mythenia.com and we will honour it. Nothing in these Terms limits a right you have under mandatory consumer law.
If your account is terminated for breaking these Terms, unused virtual currency and items are forfeited and not refunded. If we discontinue the Service entirely, section 9 applies.
6. Conduct
Play fairly and treat other players decently. The Rules set this out in full; in summary, do not cheat or automate, do not harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, do not post unlawful or hateful content, do not impersonate anyone (including our staff), do not spam or advertise, do not attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Service, and do not use the Service to break the law.
We moderate. We may review, remove, or refuse content, and we may act on reports from other players. Moderation decisions are made by people and we try to get them right; if you think we got one wrong, tell us.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict parts of your access, if:
- you break these Terms or the Rules;
- you cheat, automate play, exploit a bug, or manipulate the economy or leaderboards;
- you trade an account or in-game assets for real money;
- you harass, threaten, defraud, or endanger another person;
- you charge back or reverse a payment without contacting us first;
- you are under the minimum age in section 2, or a parent or guardian asks us to close a child’s account;
- we are required to by law, or by a payment provider or platform we depend on; or
- your account has been inactive for a long period and we have given you notice.
We aim to match the response to what happened. It may be a warning, the removal of ill-gotten gains, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Serious harm to other players skips the warning. Where we can, we tell you what rule was broken and how to appeal, by replying to the notice or writing to support@mythenia.com.
You may stop playing and close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do. Those are section 4 (ownership), section 5 (no real-world value), and sections 8 to 11.
8. The Service is provided as it is
We work hard to keep Mythenia up, fair, and fun, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available. We may take it down for maintenance, change how it works, or discontinue it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, in which case this paragraph applies to you only as far as the law allows.
If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable advance notice on the site where we can, and we will stop selling virtual currency before we shut down. Unused virtual currency at shutdown is handled as your local consumer law requires.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any other liability that the law that applies to you says may not be excluded.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost virtual currency or items, lost progress, or business interruption, whether the claim is in contract, tort, or otherwise, and even if we were told such damages were possible.
Subject to the first paragraph, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) fifty US dollars (US$50).
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit, except to the extent the claim arises from our own wrongdoing.
10. Disputes
Talk to us first. Almost everything is fixable by email. Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us at support@mythenia.com with your account name and what happened, and give us 30 days to resolve it. Most disputes end here.
Governing law and forum. These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Mythenia LLC is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not take away your home rights. If you live in the EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU residents may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
Time limit. Any claim relating to the Service must be brought within one year of when it arose, unless your local law forbids such a limit.
11. Changes, and the rest
We may update these Terms. For a material change we will give notice in the game or by email before it takes effect, bump the version number, and ask you to accept the new version. If you do not accept it, you may close your account; continuing to play after the effective date means you accept the change.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, and your rights are unaffected. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and the Rules, are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
